We've been looking forward to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky for some time now, first because we desperately wanted to return to the unique world, and second because we hoped a sequel would give the developers a chance to present a more stable and consistent experience than we got the first time around. And while the basic approach and concept of the game is still as original and interesting as ever, the rough edges make it at best unpleasant, and at worst nearly unplayable. -
If you missed the first game, shame on you. The wide-open world offered a kind of freedom not seen in most first-person shooters. Loads of moody details and atmosphere gave the world a sense of depth and realism, while the unpredictable anomalies and mutants and mercenaries made it a dangerous and often terrifying place. In short, it was a strange mix of elements that managed to captivate a number of gamers in spite of its abundant bugs. Clear Sky offers more of the same, adding several entirely new elements and lots of new content but some of the changes shift the emphasis of the game into directions that may not be entirely welcomed by some fans of the original game.

Have you ever wondered what the 1960s would have been like had World War I never ended? Probably not. Yet here's Iron Storm, a first- and third-person shooter that attempts to answer the question no one asked. Its story doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and it's sometimes frustratingly difficult, but Iron Storm is a reasonably successful action game, which is what counts. -
The game takes place in Germany during 1964, which is apparently the 50th year of the ongoing first World War. And even if you're not interested in WWI, you'll feel right at home with the game, because the advanced technology and modern fantasy weapons available to you give the whole undertaking an atmosphere not too different from that of any other generic shooter. The only real references to the Great War are the occasional mustard gas grenade and the fact that about a third of the game's levels are set in trenches--somewhat improbably, since much of the equipment on display in the game (such as portable communication devices, modern tanks, and advanced artillery) are all technical innovations that made trench warfare obsolete. You might as well just pretend it's a slightly off-kilter World War II game or a bizarre version of the Vietnam War fought against Germans in Western Europe.

The game Drakensang: The Dark Eye is based on the most successful series of role-playing German board games - Das Schwarze Auge. This is the revival of the genre! Decently forgotten canons of role-playing games are returned with the epic adventure squad of heroes. In total, the game represented some 20 different classes, with nine of them have a variety of special expertise. Advanced role-component and multiple opportunities for the development of characters specially adapted and simplified in comparison with the desktop version of the game. Dialogues with the NPC plays an important role and depend on different skills and abilities of the characters.

Ground Control: Dark Conspiracy is the official expansion to Swedish developer Massive Entertainment's graphically stunning real-time tactical combat game, which was released about six months earlier. Created by American studio High Voltage Software, Dark Conspiracy is a fully featured expansion that introduces an all-new faction of futuristic units for you to command, as well as a new campaign containing 15 successive single-player scenarios. The game also has several new multiplayer maps designed by the original Ground Control team. Yet despite all its additions, Dark Conspiracy makes no significant changes to the way the original game plays. Therefore, it may remind you of some of the frustrations you encountered with the original, even though Ground Control: Dark Conspiracy fundamentally remains the same great strategy game as its predecessor. Nevertheless, since the expansion is available for just a nominal shipping cost to players who already own Ground Control, its problems will seem mostly trivial. -
Ground Control boasted some of the best graphics of any PC game released in 2000. As in many fully 3D real-time strategy games, Ground Control gives you the ability to freely adjust the camera perspective so that you can pan, rotate, and zoom your view to suit the situation. The game's incredibly detailed combat units, realistic terrain, and impressive special effects look great regardless of how close or how far away you prefer to view them. Dark Conspiracy looks as good as Ground Control did, for the most part. The new playable faction, the Phoenix Mercenaries, comprises a fairly interesting set of units that seem like a cross between Ground Control's original factions, the imposing forces of the Crayven Corporation and the sleek technology of the Order of the New Dawn. Dark Conspiracy also features some new environments in which you'll battle. Unfortunately these are unremarkable compared with those in the original game. Their topography consists mostly of the same sort of rolling hills as in Ground Control, only the environments themselves don't look as good because of the lower-quality textures that are used to depict the ground and the sky.

Gorky 17 (released as Odium in North America) is a turn-based tactics computer game developed by Metropolis Software and published by Monolith Productions for Windows in 1999. -
In the near future, a secret military compound in Russia is bombed into smoking ruins. A team of NATO commandos is sent to investigate. It disappears. You are Cole Sullivan, leader of a team sent to find out what happened to both the first team and the facility. Actually, you play the role of Cole Sullivan and his two subordinates. You soon discover that the destroyed base is filled with angry mutants. Not surprisingly, that discovery is followed by the realization that you must fight the mutants to complete your investigation.

The game is composed mainly of two playing modes. First - the "adventure" mode, where you walk freely around the city, pick up items and use them in various places, and sometimes see cutscenes - conversations between characters.
When you encounter the mutants, the gameplay switches to a turn-based strategy, a little similar to games such as X-Com: each turn, first all your men may move and act (attack, push items), and then all the mutants move and attack. During combat, your characters gain experience, and eventually gain levels (in mid-combat) and can improve their statistics, such as accuracy, luck etc

Dead to Rights is about a K-9 cop named Jack Slate, who does what he can to keep the peace in a criminal cesspool called Grant City. At the beginning of the game, Slate and his trusty dog Shadow are investigating a mysterious construction site. There, Slate discovers that someone very close to him has been murdered. Against direct orders, he sets off to find some answers and to seek revenge. The story, as told through Jack's deadpan narration and the occasional CG cutscene, seems pretty straightforward at first. During the course of the game, however, it actually takes some decent twists and eventually becomes quite involving. The best that can be said for it is that, unlike most stories in games, this one does a commendable job of tying up all its loose ends before the credits roll.
